The Lord Knows Best

I am constantly amazed at the confidence the Lord has in me. I am amazed at the things I am able to accomplish and do when the Lord tells me to. There are things that I never would have even attempted until the Lord told me I needed to try them.

I have also been thinking of Sister Julie Beck's talk last year to the members in the Utah Valley Regional Conference. She talked about how we are doing better than we think we are in our path towards eternal life but that we know we could be doing better. I have connected this to trials and the hard things we are asked to do in the church. The Lord stretches us to the point that we think we can go no further and then he pushes us a little farther. This is the "we can do better" part of our lives. We may think that we are doing the best that we can in life but the Lord will show us how much better we can be doing.

Looking back we notice that although it hurt at that moment it has made us a stronger person. We notice that we are better because of that push. There are some lessons we can never learn if we don't push ourselves to be better and to try our best to follow the Lord's plan for us. This is where the spirit comes in to play the most in our lives. Learning to trust in the Lord and follow the promptings that we receive.

I am amazed at the Lord's timing as well. It seems that answers to prayers come at just the right time and just as we cross one hurdle He throws another one at us.

I am eternally grateful for the Spirit that I have constantly with me. I am also glad that my parents taught me to always be prepared for what ever the Lord has need for me to do. I have been asked a couple weeks ago what goals I have for my life. Well I want to live my life in a way that I will always be able to help those in need and be the Lord's hands on this earth. This is now my new life's goal.

I have found that this movie is so touching and has really helped me to reach this goal of helping others around me:

Sometimes we just have to take a leap of faith and hope that the Lord will be their to catch us if we fall.

New Year

Sorry I haven't written on here for a while. I have been super busy this year.

I just wanted to take some time on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon to reflect on the greatest gift in my life. The Savior and his atonement. One of my favorite quotes of all time is by Chieko N. Okazaki about the Savior.

I couldn't find the exact quote but she talks about how the Savior know s how we feel all the time. he knows our situations and how we feel. He knows all stages of life and what challenges that come with each stage of mortality.

I love this quote because it shows just how infinite the atonement is. It shows how the Savior is our ultimate comforter. I love how you can cast all your burdens on him and lean on his arm. I also know for a fact that the Savior is the one person in this world that will never let you down.

I was reading a letter from my friend Tairsa, who is on a mission right now, and she said that "the gospel is a hospital for the sick, not a spa for the perfect". This quote really hit home for me because I am always striving to be perfect. But I understand now that it will never happen in this life, and that is okay. The Savior doesn't expect me or anyone else to be perfect in this life. Perfect people don't need a Savior.

Therefore I am going to strive to be the best person I can be and try my hardest to be a better person every day but if I mess up that will be okay. He knows what is going on in my mind.

Another comfort to me is that Satan doesn't know what I am thinking. Only Heavenly Father and the Savior know our thoughts, I learned this from the scriptures. This is a tremendous comfort because of the many temptations that we are faced with everyday.

I would just like to finish by saying that I am so thankful for the atonement and its power in my life. I mess up constantly but I know through the Savior's redeeming power I will be able to live with my Heavenly Father again one day and look up into his face and know that I am home once again.
